A recent comparative study about dietary protein intake and the muscle mass of average middle aged people clearly shows a graph of deficiency in both of the parameters. The analysis concluded a poor muscle mass among men and women in India raised to the level of 75 percentage, the main reasons being the dietary intake of nutritious foods.
People in the category of 30 to 55 age group have the dominant part in the analysis of protein deficiency. The study was conducted with 1,243 people aged between 30 to 55 years from eight cities of India. Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Patna, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Ahmedabad are the cities taken into account for the studies keeping the diversity factor of the country into this study. With this analysis seven out of ten middle aged people of India have low muscle mass leading to various health issues.
Stressful working conditions, poor dietary intake and unhealthy lifestyle are some of the major reasons for the poor muscle mass. More than 68 percent of Indians have poor muscle mass owing to low body protein. The working professional group has a whopping 72 percent of low muscle mass directly linked to the unhealthy lifestyle of the current generation.
Metabolic imbalance, Fatigue and impaired muscle function are some of the common threats that comes along with the poor dietary intake. High protein diet with healthy sources of amino acids and regular exercise will lead to better muscle mass and overall body efficiency. With this the bone density gets stronger eradicating the entire health crisis of the middle aged group of the country.
Eating natural raw fruits, protein sources such as vegetables, nuts, pulses and meat along with the basic theme of avoiding unhealthy junk foods can improve the muscle mass irrespective of the age group.
