The Indian Railways has organized a new and special ‘Ramayana’ pilgrimage trip to visit the places where the various incidents described in the epis are supposed to have taken place.
This train will cover the route – Tirunelveli, Madurai, Trichy and Chennai.
IRCTC (Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation) has been organizing various attractive tourism programs. As a further step, a special Ramayana pilgrimage trip to be known as ‘Ramayana Yatra’ is now being organized.
The main objective of this special tour is to take the passengers to places where the various incidents described in the epic of Ramayana are supposed to have taken place.
The places covered would include ‘Chitrakoot’ in Madhya Pradesh, Shringverpur in Uttar Pradesh, The Tulsi Manas Mandir, Ayodhya, Seetha Margi (Seetha’s birthplace) in Bihar, Darbhanga, and Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.
This special pilgrimage train is scheduled to leave from Kochuveli (near Thiruvananthapuram) on 31st August. It will stop ay Tirunelveli at early morning 3.30 AM and then Madurai at 6.35 AM, Trichy at 9.45 AM and Chennai Egmore at 4.00 PM to pick up the passengers who have booked for this special Ramayana pilgrimage tour.
The trip concludes on 11th September at Madurai. The fares for travelling in this special Ramayan pilgrimage trip are in 3 categories – Deluxe, Comfort, and Standard.
The fare per passenger starts from a minimum of Rs. 39350 and a maximum of Rs. 60750. The fare includes food, water, and all bus travels. A special concession is given for children.
