A decision to reduce the fares in government express buses

The State Express Transport Corporation has implemented the plan to reduce the fares of the express buses with berth and air-conditioning facilities on the ordinary leaving aside the holidays and festivals.
Some new deluxe buses with additional latest facilities were handed over recently to SETC, Sleeping berth with air-conditioning, toilet, fire extinguishing equipment, emergency exit doors and windows, and automatic doors are some of the faculties in these buses.
Apart from this, 60 more deluxe buses are likely to be added. The fares for these buses are fixed at Rs. 2 per km. The fare from Chennai to Salem is Rs. 725. The fare from Chennai to Bodinayakanur is Rs. 1110. The fare from Chennai to Erode is Rs. 905. The fare for Chennai to Gobichettipalayam is Rs. 955. The fare from Chennai to Madurai is Rs. 975. The fare from Chennai to Karur is Rs. 820. The fare from Chennai to Coimbatore and Bangalore is Rs. 805.
In this situation, the state government of Tamil Nadu has taken a decision to reduce the fares in the Express buses by a small margin on all ordinary days except holidays and festivals.
Accordingly, on Mondays and Wednesdays, the fare for the deluxe buses with toilet facility is fixed at Rs. 1.05 per km. For the deluxe buses with sleeping berths, it is fixed at Rs. 1.35 per km. For the AC deluxe buses with sleeping berths, it is fixed at Rs. 1.80 per km
The fares on Thursdays to Sundays (applicable to holidays and festivals as well) for the deluxe buses with toilet facility is fixed at Rs. 1.15 per km. For the deluxe buses with air-conditioning and sleeper berth facility, the fare will be Rs. 2 per km. For the deluxe buses with sleeper berth facility, the fare is Rs, 1.55 per km.
The officials of the SETC explained that they have been taking initiatives to improve the comfort level of the passengers. There has been a huge popular response from the passengers for these new deluxe buses with the latest facilities. Meanwhile, with a view to increasing the number of passengers, the public passengers will be offered the additional facility of reduction in the deluxe bus fares as above.
Thus, the bus passengers will find it more beneficial. When more deluxe buses are being added to the fleet, the number of passengers in the deluxe buses will increase.
