Maha Kumbhabhishekham is being performed today (Thursday, 16th August) at the Tirupathi temple. In preparation for this special occasion, Sathurdasa Kalas Shabana Thirumanjanam was performed yesterday (Wednesday, 15th August) o the main deity and other deities.

Maha Kumbhabhishekham is in progress today at the Tirupathi temple. As it had been announced much earlier that only a very limited number of devotees will be allowed for the Darshan of the Lord during the Maha Kumbhabhishekham, the strength of devotees visiting Tirupathi for the Lord’s Darshan had reduced considerably. Due to this, the 4 main corridor streets around the temple and other roads/streets are without the usual crowd of devotees.

As the 4h day of the Maha Kumbhabhishekham was in progress yesterday (Wednesday, 15th August), the intensive religious rites were being performed at the Yagasalai.  ‘Sathurdasa Kalasa Sthabana Thirumanjanam’ was performed on the main deity of the Lord Venkateswara, and the other deities of Vagula Matha Devi, Vimana Venkateswara, Varadaraja Swami, Garudalwar, Yoga Narasimha, Bashigar, and Bedi Anjaneyar,

Subsequently, Kalas Shabana Thirumanjanam and Maha Purnahudhi were performed from 1.00 PM to 3.00 PM. Maha Santhi Thirumanjanam was performed on the Usav deities of Malayappa Swamy and His Consorts Sridevi and Bhoodevi at the Yagasalai. During the night, religious rites were performed. This Mahasanthi Thirumanjanam is performed once in 12 years.
