As a very low-pressure zone has formed over the Bay of Bengal, fishermen have been banned to enter the sea in the Andhra and Andaman coastal areas. As a peak of this year’s southwest monsoon rainy season, it had rained heavily in the states of Kerala and Karnataka and most of the districts are flooded.
As the excess water in the Cauvery had been drained out, the water level in the delta district catchment areas and the dams have all filled up. The water catchment areas in the Western Ghat mountain range areas in the southern districts have also filled up.
In this situation, a swarm of clouds with high humidity level are moving towards the Bay of Bengal. Because of this, a very low-pressure zone has formed over the northern part of the northeast Bay of Bengal. This is drifting in the northwest direction and it is estimated that it may lead to heavy rains in Andhra, Telangana, and Odisha.
With this prevailing situation, there are highly turbulent sea waves in the central and northern part of the Bay of Bengal. So, fishermen have been banned to enter the sea in Andhra, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu.
Strict warnings have been issued to the fishermen not to venture into the sea in the coastal areas of Andaman, Andhra and the Tamil Nadu Tuticorin.
There are prospects of heavy rain in the districts of Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, and Tirunelveli.
The Chennai Metro City will be cloudy. There are prospects of sudden and intermittent rains.
