Police Verification goes online as CCTNS from September

There is no need of a manual certification procedures to clear the police verification process. Tenants and employees can easily initiate the process online on a click of the mouse from September. Three basic verification process can be done online without any kind of direct appearance to government offices.

Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) is the overall process introduced by the police department to facilitate the verification and certification of a person’s conduct. CCTNS Portal provide services such as accident document, lost document reports, FIR and CSR viewing and other online complaints. Now the online portal provides the individual police verification certificates for retrieval purposes in terms of house rent procedures and employment.

For tenant verification, character verification and self-verification CCTNS provides online forms that can be downloaded and applied. Towards the end of September the online portal for police verification will be opened for public use said one of the officials of State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB).

A payment of Rs 500 is collected individual verification and Rs 1,000 for companies. The portal prompts the users to provide a government authorized identity card for initial verification. Then followed by a policeman visiting the residence of people who are in need for the certificate. As informed by a senior police officer once the concerned person is directly verified and queried by the policeman the certificate will be issued officially online.

South Chennai is considered as a technical hub for people coming from various other states of India to work in IT companies situated in the zone. So the online verification scheme will be more useful for the employees and the houses surrounding the companies or locality for character verification.
