Authorization from Airport authorities from surveying 29 wards around airport was long pending and so the corporation decided to shelve the project. The 29 wards includes the areas such as Alandur, Adyar, Teynampet, Valasaravakkam and Perungudi.

The delay in the issue of permission in these areas owing to security purpose is the main reason for the drop of survey plan said one of the officials of Chennai Corporation.

Chennai Corporation asked assistance from ISRO for satellite imageries of these 29 wards around airport to solve the survey issue. The satellite imaging connects km radius of the airport.

Though the images of the satellite is a quality compromise when compared to high resolution drone images the Corporation has no option left to escalate the null effect of the work. Flying drones can be dangerous in the flight zones, security crimes of hacking the drones can lead to serious effects.

Unauthorized buildings and encroachments cannot be monitored without the drone images in the areas of Alandur. Officials will quickly look for alternating options to survey the land allotment and regulations for avoiding any kind of violations.
