Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has advised the citizens not to share the Aadhar particulars with anyone in the social networking media/ Even if particulars such as PAN or Debit Card details are not linked to Aadhar, it would still be best advised not to share Aadhar particulars with anyone on the social networking media.

Further, Aadhar is not a detail that is meant for sharing with anyone and everyone. It should be strictly used only in the places wherever it is required. Most of the citizens do not indulge in sharing their confidential personal details without any reason in the public media. Aadhar also belongs to this category

Recently, The Chairman of TRAI, R. S. Sharma,   released his Aadhar details in the social networking media Twiter and challenged the hackers. The hackers did accept this challenge and promptly released the confidential personal details of R. S. Sharma. This led to a huge controversy and subsequently, it was appealed that no one should release the Aadhar details in such a way.

Legally, Aadhar is the device meant to check and verify the fingerprint, the pupils of the eye, and QR Code. No criminal activities can be done with it. Still, there is scope for some miscreants to use it for the wrong purposes. So, citizens are advised not to share Aadhar details. UIDAI has clarified that the notion that anyone can take a copy of some Aadhar card and use it for maloperations in the related bank savings account is absolutely wrong.
