Presently, the train tickets online booking facility is available on the IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) website. The system of insuring the passengers for the journey and in case of accidents causing death or injury, suitable compensation is offered through insurance coverage.

So far, a nominal amount of Re.1 is being collected for this insurance coverage when the passengers book their train tickets online.
