Coming Friday i.e. tomorrow will be the last date to submit self-declaration forms for property tax. The only way for the assesses to become eligible for the age rebate with which you can obtain discounts towards property tax will be to submit these forms, say officials. Now is the time to get age rebate when there is a generation revision being done, the officials add. If you fail to declare your properties now within the provided time, you will then not be able to get the discount claim later on.

To calculate the annual rental value, the total age of the building will be considered important. This annual rental value will be helpful in calculating the monthly rental value which in turn will evaluate the property tax. Property owners who fail to have the needed property approval be very reluctant in declaring the same. However, with drone measurement and reassessment, these properties shall be figured out.

These drones contain cameras and will be used for capturing the properties that violate rules. This will be performed as an integral step of GIS mapping system, intending to increase tax revenue.

Only two more days are left for the due date. So far, about 3 lakh filled forms are received at the civic body out of the total 8 lakh forms that were given out. The corporation officials add that there is no need to worry in case of incorrect marking pertaining to the property area. Corrections may be done at the Assistant Revenue Officers. You can get the self-declaration form downloaded at the official corporation website - http://www.chennaicorporation.gov.in/online-civic-services/PropDownLoads.jsp
