During the 9 days Brahmotsavam festival, the deity of Lord Venkateswara is carried on different carriages, called Vahanas, throughout the Brahmotsavam festival celebrated in the world-famous Tirupathi temple.
On the 2nd day of the Brahmotsavam, the deity of the Lord Venkateswara is carried in a procession on the temple corridors on the carriage of the ‘Pedda Sesha Vahana’ – the carriage being the large cobra.
The deity of Lord Venkateswara is flanked by His Divine Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoodevi and carried on a mighty 7 hooded serpent. The seven hoods of the snake represent the 7 hills of Tirumalai-Tirupathi.
