The most important among the various celebrations in the annual schedule of the famous Tirupathi temple, the Brahmotsvam is the most important. This year (2018), it commenced last Thursday (13th September).  During the 10-days annual festival, the deity of the Lord Venkateswara along with His Consorts is carried on a procession on different carriages (such as horse, snake, elephant, Garuda, etc) along the temple corridors and streets in both mornings and evenings. Devotees throng attending the festival and have Darshans to their hearts’ content.

Accordingly, during yesterday`s (Sunday, 16th September), the deity of the Lord was carried on the carriage of ‘Sarva Bhoopala’on a procession. The lakhs of ardent devotees who had gathered on the Mada streets and the corridors had a Darshan of the Lord.

In this situation, the most prominent occasion of the Brahmotsavam, ‘Garuda Seva’ is scheduled tonight (Monday, 17th September). Several lakhs of devotees will be visiting and participating on this grand occasion to have the Darshan of the Lord Venkateswara on the carriage of Garuda.

So, in order to prevent any problems due to the large crowds of devotees expected, the devotees on the Mada-streets can wait in the halls for the occasion right from 10.00 Am today for the occasion scheduled in the night.

Especially for the occasion of the Garuda Seva tonight, all other regular darshans except Dharma Darshan are cancelled for the day.
