Easwari Engineering College organized National Conference on Materials for Modern World (NCMMW-2018)

Department of Physics, Easwari Engineering College,Ramapuram,Chennai has organized two days DAE-BRNS sponsored 5th National Conference on Materials for Modern World (NCMMW-2018). Dr. G. Amarendra, Director, Materials Science Group and Metallurgy & Materials Group, Senior Professor, Homi Bhabha National Institute, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Department of Atomic Energy, Kalpakkam Tamil Nadu inaugurated the two days conference. Dr. S. Nirmala, Convener welcomed the gathering and delivered the overview of the conference.
The Chief Guest during the inaugural address “graced the occasion and has spoken about the nano materials that can be used to extract energy to meet the societal needs”. The proceeding of the conference was released by the Chief Guest and was received by Dr. K. Kathiravan, Principal. There were 7 sessions for two days consisting of eight invited talks by renowned Scientists and Professors from IGCAR Kalpakkam, CEERI Centre Taramani, CLRI Chennai, CECRI Chennai, IIT Madras etc. The total number of participants for the conference was more than hundred. Sixty three delegates presented papers on various topics like nano materials, photonic materials, crystallography, crystal growth, dielectric materials etc. On day two i.e., on 19th September 2018, Chief Guest Dr. S. Gunasekaran, Dean, Research & Development, St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research, Avadi, Chennai has delivered the valedictory address.
