College admission is very important in the career of a student. The latest news is CBSE or Central Board for Secondary Examinations have announced that vocational examinations for the classes 10 and 12 would be held in the second half in the month of February. The main objective behind this is to release the board examination results plus revaluation results in time for the college admissions.
In the month of March the examinations for core subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, geography, business studies, accountancy and economics would be held. In the pursuance of Delhi court order, the decision was taken by the CBSE.
Previously the Delhi court grabbed many eyeballs when it directed CBSE and Delhi University to ensure that class 12 results as well as revaluation results were taken into consideration for determining the cut-off date for admission to colleges of Delhi University. Now CBSE has decided that examinations for all vocational or skill education subjects would be held in the second half of February. As per the release it is clear that as many as 40 vocational subjects were offered for class 12 and 15 vocational subjects were offered for class 10 students.
There are few students who study subjects like typography and computer applications etc and examinations for these subjects would also be held in February. These papers have larger practical component and shorter theory papers and because of this reason these examinations for these subjects would be held in February. The slight advancement in the board examinations schedule would help in earlier declaration of the results and in revaluation results when compared to the past.
It is known that CBSE examinations usually start in the month of March and go on for a period of 7 weeks or more to accommodate all the subjects. The results are announced in the 4th week of the month of May and in the end of July the revaluation process gets completed. By this time, the admissions in Delhi University and in other universities are almost completed. This was confirmed by CBSE. Next week on the CBSE website, the subjects for which the examinations would be held in February and March would be notified.
