The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that as there is a cyclonic format prevailing in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the southeast Bay of Bengal and also due to the phenomenon of thermal convection, there are prospects of heavy rain in several areas including Kanyakumari, Karaikkal, Nagapattinam, Villupuram, Pamban, and Ramanathapuram.
An official from the Chennai Meteorological Centre informed that the southwest monsoon rainy season gets concluded and there are prospects that the northeast monsoon rainy season may commence during the 2nd week of October.
The official further explained that due to reasons of the thermal convection phenomenon and the cyclonic format prevailing in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the southeast Bay of Bengal, there are prospects of mild to heavy rain with thunder in several places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Further, there are prospects heavy rain in 1 or 2 places in Kanyakumari, Karaikkal, Nagapattinam, Villupuram, Pamban, and Ramanathapuram,.
The Chennai Metro will remain cloudy. There are prospects of mild rain or rain with thunder in a few places. The maximum temperature will be 93.2 Degrees Fahrenheit and the minimum temperature will be 78.8 Degrees Fahrenheit.
The cyclonic format over the southeast Bay of Bengal has not intensified. Still, the rain is persisting due to the phenomenon of thermal convection.
