As there has been teeming crowds of devotees at the Tirupathi temple, Divya Darshan and Time-slot Darshans have been cancelled.

It has been a tradition for centuries for the devotees to visit Tirupathi especially on Saturdays during the Tamil Calendar month of Purattasi and have Darshan of their favourite Lord Venkateswara.

As a single day on yesterday (Tuesday, 2nd October),  an unprecedented number of 105018 devotees had the Darshan of the Lord.

Further, as a single day yesterday, 513566 Laddus have been sold to the devotees. On yesterday as well as the last 2 ‘Purattasi’ Saturdays, overwhelming crowds of devotees thronged the temple at Tirupathi. Hence, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has carried out some changes in the Darshan arrangements.

As 2 more ‘Purattasi’ Saturdays are pending, it is expected that the overwhelming crowd of devotees will persist.

Navarathri Brahmotsavam Celebrations are scheduled at the Tirupathi temple from 10th October to 18th October. So, on the dates of 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st October, the admission card will not be issued for the devotees who come for the Divya Darshan by the routes of Alibiri and Srivarimettu. Further, the system of issue of time-slot tokens for free Darshan has also been stopped.

Only a lesser number of devotees, who come through Rs. 300 tickets, and the VIP devotees who come with recommendations, and the Protocol devotees will be allowed. Further, facilities such as the distribution of buttermilk and Annadhanam will be organised.
