Egmore based government school gets first smart classroom

The students and teachers belonging to Presidency Higher Secondary School for Girls located in Egmore, Chennai must feel happy now. The reason is this school has now become the first in the state of Tamil Nadu to get smart classroom. A Japan based firm has designed this smart classroom and it was inaugurated by school education minister Mr. K.A Sengottaiyan. The minister later revealed that by the month of December as many as 3000 government schools in the state of TN would have smart classroom facilities.

The government school students belonging to class 1 to class 10 would be wearing new shade of school uniform and this new shade of uniform was released by the school education minister. From the next academic year 2019-20, elementary students would get green shade and middle school students would get sandal colored uniforms for free of cost.  It is important to mention that earlier in this 2018 uniform shade for high and higher school students were changed.

The school education minister Mr. K.A Sengottaiyan was also questioned regarding scrapping of the board examinations for class 11. He replied that the decision to remove the board examinations for class 11 students was taken to reduce the stress levels in the students. He further spoke about how the government would send a direction to the schools regarding the standards to be maintained while teaching the class 11 syllabus. He finally spoke about the kinder garden sections that would be started in the government schools from the next year onwards and how 7000 surplus staffs from elementary sections would be handling the new sections.
