On Thursday, 4th October 2018, Jupiter or Guru Bhagwan transited from Thulam raasi or Libra to Virchika raasi or Scorpio and is referred as ‘Guru Peyarchi’. On the day of this guru peyarchi, there were many special poojas conducted in the temples in Chennai. The devotees considered the day as auspicious and offered prayers to Guru Bhagwan.

Poojas were conducted in the evening in these shrines of Shavite temples in Chennai yesterday to mark the transit of Guru Bhagwan from Thulam to Virchikam. In Padi is situated popular Thiruvaleeshwar temple and in this temple many poojas took place and the temple wore a festive look yesterday. It is worthy to note that this temple in Padi, Chennai is regarded as Guru parihara sthalam and many devotees visited this temple on the occasion of Guru Peyarchi yesterday. The lord and the Goddess Jagathambika of this temple were adorned with jewels and colourful robes and devotees who visited the temple had superb darshan. Lord Guru Bhagwan could ward off the negativities and could bring many benefits and this made many devotees to offer prayers for Guru Bhagwan yesterday.
