The State Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that a new facility has been introduced to know the status of the property registration applications.

The details of the announcement in this regard released by the Inspector General J Kumarakurubaran, the Head of the Department of Registration:

A software known as ‘Star 2.0’ is being used for all Property registration procedures. The status of the stages of the registration procedure, from the date of the registration of the submission of the registration form till the date of return of the original document being returned to the owner, can be accessed. Accordingly, in the present system, the applicants can get this status either by direct personal visit or through telephone calls.

With a view to change this present system, and in order for the registration applicants to avoid the effort, expense and the time spent to know the status of the registration, a new facility has been introduced where they can access the status wherever they are including their residences.

With this facility, the applicants can access the status by accessing the website and entering the section of the Status and typing the temporary document number or the full number of the registration application. Then, the various stages of completion of the registration procedure will appear on the screen. If the status indicates completion and the original document set to be returned, the applicant to visit the office and take back the same.

This new facility will prevent the necessity of the public to travel for visits and the physical exertion, time and money. This new facility would be applicable to the documents created from 19th October.
