Persistent rain for 3 days from 1st to 3rd November in Tamil Nadu

The private weather agencies have informed that there are prospects of persistent rain for 3 days from 1st to 3rd November in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

With regard to the monsoon rainy season, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that the southwest monsoon rainy season has come to a close and the northeast monsoon rainy season has commenced. The northeast seasonal winds have started blowing. This will intensify and strengthen and transform into rain in a period of 4 days.

A low-pressure zone is likely to form over the central-west part of the Bay of Bengal on 29th October. This would drift towards northwest direction leading to heavy rains from 30th October in the states of Odisha and West Bengal.

When this heavy rain abates in the northeastern states, persistent rains would commence in the coastal districts and the adjacent districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

There are no warnings for heavy rain n Tamil Nadu until 31st October. However, in the long-term estimated made by the Meteorological Centre, it is estimated there are prospects more than the normal rains during the 1st week of November.

Meanwhile, in a weather report released by the private weather agencies, it is estimated that there are prospects of persistent rains for 3 days from the early morning of 1st November to 3rd November in the coastal districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, and Ramanathapuram and Puducherry.
