Chennai airport decides to extend the length of the conveyor belts for luggage in the arrival halls. This measure is the direct result of long time complaints from the passengers regarding the luggage arrival.

After several complaints from the passengers for years Chennai airport has finally urged the operation of extending the conveyor belt.
Chennai airport authorities mentioned the fact that the additional belts for the luggage is not possible owing to the limitation of space inside the terminal. But the extension of the existing belts can be done easily said one of the officials. In domestic terminal the current length (63.6m) of three belts will be extended by 18 m. Fourth belt with a length of 75.6 m will be increased by 30m.
In the international terminal six belts have a length of 61 m and only three belts will have an extension by 13.86 meters. Passengers’ feedback about the extension of belt was against the decision of airport authorities as they expect the new conveyor belts as the only option for making the luggage transport quicker than before.
