Brain-dead saves three from death

A person who was declared brain-dead had saved the lives of three patients who were fighting for their lives in a hospital.
 
The doctors at the Global Hospital in Chennai harvested some organs from the body of Vaithiyalingam, whose brain became dead after he met with an accident in Salem.

With the permission from the victim’s parents, the Chennai doctors harvested liver, kidneys, heart-valves and eyes from the body. Three other patients at the hospital whose conditions were serious were donated liver and two kidneys at a three different operations that took place.

The eyes of the brain-dead were donated to Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai and the heart-valve had been kept for some other needy person, hospital sources said.
Vaithyalingam, 27 year-old, met with an accident in Salem while he was riding his motorbike. A Salem hospital who attended on the victim declared  brain-dead and the Global Hospital in Chennai confirmed it.
