Low intensity bomb explode near Pranabs hotel

A low intensity crude bomb was hurled on Monday outside the Sonargaon Pan-Pacific hotel in Dhaka, where Indian President Pranab Mukherjee is staying. No one was injured, said an Officer-in-charge of Tejgaon police station.

According to an eyewitness two persons who came on a motorcycle, hurled the bomb which was wrapped with a cap near the SAARC fountain, within a few yards away from the hotel at a street.

The two managed to escape and no arrest was made so far, said a police official.

None of the delegation members heard any explosion nor they knew any such incident, however, the Press Secretary of the President said that the matter was informed about the bomb and the investigation had been started.

The President on Monday morning addressed Dhaka University students. The President was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the President of Bangladesh.
