The depression zone formed over the Bay of Bengal will transform into a cyclonic format and is set to cross the coast on Monday between Ongole-Kakinada.
Due to this, a warning regarding heavy rains has been issued in the coastal Andhra and the northern Tamil Nadu districts.
High-speed winds from the lands may blow at 45 kmph to 55 kmph across the coastal Tamil Nadu, Andhra, and Puducherry
The High-depression zone formed over the south Bay of Bengal has drifted towards the west and northwest and has stabilized over the area near Machillipattinam at a distance of 890 km.
This may transform into a cyclone in the next 24 hours (Saturday/Sunday – 15th/16th) and in the next 24 hours over 2 days (Sunday/Monday - 16th/17th) this may intensify into a very severe cyclone.
The cyclone format will drift towards north and northwest and will cross the coast during the afternoon on 17th December between Ongole-Kakinada.
Due to this, there may be heavy rains in a few areas of very heavy rains. There are prospects of very heavy rains on 16th December in a few places in Tamil Nadu.
The wind speed may gradually increase and blow at speeds of 80 kmph to 90 kmph from the morning of the 17th December and may then further increase to speeds of 100 kmph.
