Cabinet ministry approves amendments to make Aadhaar linking voluntary for banking, phones

In the meeting held by the central cabinet ministry, approval has been given make amendments in Act to link Aadhar card details with the Bank Savings account and the cell phone number.
A few months earlier, the Supreme Court Political Law Bench had given the verdict hat Aadhar card should be made mandatory to avail all the welfare schemes. At the same time, it had also given the verdict that it is not mandatory to link Aadhar card details.
In this situation, the central government has decided to enact the Law for the approval to link Aadhar Card with cell phone number and the Bank Savings Account/ In a recent central cabinet ministry meeting presided by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approval was given to make the necessary amendments in Acts on the Telegraph Law and the ban on the illegal transaction of money.
Accordingly, the public can provide the Aadhar card details if they are willing while getting a new SIM card connection for a cell phone. It may be noted that it is entirely on their preferences.
