A government order has been issued to give Patta (the ownership deed or document) to the residents who have been living in the government ‘Purampokku’ (unclaimed) land for more than 5 years.
The order mentions that apart from the following lands – all varieties of water-bodies, the streets/roads under the domain of the local administration, district, state, and National Highways – which are objectionable purampokku (unclaimed) lands – the residents who have been living in the ‘Purampokku’ lands for more than 5 years will be given the plot ‘Patta’ after regularization.
For the claimants under the above condition, an upper limit of a maximum of Rs. 1 Lakh as the annual income has been fixed for both urban (cities) and rural (village) areas.
The patta would be given as under:
- Rural or interior village areas – 4 cents
- Urban (cities) areas – 2.5 cents
- Corporation domain areas – 2 cents
It has been farther informed that the above regularization scheme should be implemented within 6 months.
