It is now revealed that the police verification certificate that used to cost Rs 3000 has come down to Rs 1000. Likewise the police verification certificate for the individuals has come down to Rs 500 from the previous amount of Rs 1000.
On Wednesday, 9th January 2018, State Crime Record Bureau or SCRB and ADGP Seema Agarwal grabbed many eyeballs when she launched the service as a special feature of the website across all the district headquarters and commissionerates. She spoke about how the website was accessed by as many as 1.39 crore people till now and how as many as 3.32 lakh online complaints have been received. She revealed that these complaints were dealt through investigation or by registering cases. Seema Agarwal then highlighted that for 6 months of time her team have worked to make the website more user friendly. Finally Seema Agarwal shared her happiness regarding many people using the website after lost document report was launched.
The important piece of information is the online portal has self-verification, job verification plus tenant verification and domestic help verification facilities.
Mr. A.K. Viswanathan, police commissioner, Chennai city, explained about the objective of the service and said verification of the identity of the person, verification of the person’s current address, checking whether the person is involved in any criminal case according the police records etc could be possible by the service. It is worth mentioning here that this service is applicable to those who live in the state of TN only. The important point is many online services that have been launched in the recent times have been successful and many people use FIR and LDR or lost document report services. It is now said that the Chennai city intelligent wing officials as well as the district crime branch officers would be responsible to issue the report within 15 days of time from the receipt of the submission of the letter. ADGP Seema Agarwal threw light on the fact that launching of such online services has brought citizens and police closer.
