The advent of the New Year brings with itself innumerable resolutions every year. This year began with inspirations from women across the country as they encouraged each other to adopt a healthy lifestyle through their fitness regime to accomplish an achievement to remember.A large community of women from different walks of life came together to celebrate the spirit of health and wellbeing through the Spirit of Pinkathon in association with Sunfeast Farmlite. Fighting against the odds stacked against them, the women took the baton of their health in control by making right lifestyle choices. 30 participants between the age group of 30 to 70 undertook the distance of 180 km across 3 days. Sunfeast Farmlite believes that the first step for a better living is to take control of one’s lifestyle and make healthier choices. Sunfeast Farmlite and the Spirit of Pinkathon builtthis platform for encouraging women totake up health challenges and lead anhealthier lifestyle.
The marathon saw passionate women overcoming their social and health challenges while making the right choice of adopting a healthier lifestyle. Every participant worked towards their fitness across the year to take up the challenge and run the 180 kmultra-marathon. Daksha Kanavia, a 68 year old retired bank manager, dance enthusiast; and a Guinness World Record holder in 1-minute planking and backward walkingis one such brave heart who participated in the Spirit of Pinkathon. Encouraged by her daughter, she participated in her first marathon at the age of 62 and never took a step back ever since. She remains ageless and has inspired many peopleto lead an active lifestyle.Joyce Gomes, a mother of 2 and a trainer for the Pinkathon Silvassa group is yetanother inspiring achiever who participated in the Spirit of Pinkathon. She has beena role model for thousands of women in the town of Silvassa and has motived them to leap beyond their limits. Joyce ran a distance of 150 km from Silvassa to Mumbai. Her efforts translated intosuccess when she received an honorary Believe Hero award.
