Anna University to review the current arrears exam system

As per the existing system, students who have arrears of examinations to be passed can write the arrears examination only once a year. So, as per the existing system adopted by Anna University, the student who has arrears on some subjects in the 1st semester can write the arrears examinations only during the 3rd semester. Further, the student can write arrears examinations only on 3 subjects. The student protested against this. There was a discussion with the university authorities and subsequently, the students gave up their protests.
In this situation, in the latest notification released in this regard, Anna University has declared:
‘A detailed review is being conducted regarding the arrears examinations system in the engineering courses. The students must not waste their time and should focus more on their studies and prepare better for the ensuing examination. The new rules and regulations and the revised arrears examination system will be announced shortly.’
