Price of subsidised LPG cooking gas cylinder down

The oil corporations have announced that the price of the subsidised LPG cooking gas cylinder reduced by Rs. 1.46. This has been implemented.

The oil corporations have been fixing the price of the LPG cooking gas cylinders based on the fluctuations in the crude oil price in the international market. Accordingly, with the tax on gas in the market being reduced, the price of the subsidised LPG cooking gas cylinder in India has also come down.

As per this, the price of the 14.2 kg LPG cooking gas cylinder has been reduced from Rs. 494.99 to Rs. 493.53, This has come into effect from Thursday midnight (from 1st February morning) This is the 3rd time that the price of the subsidised cooking gas cylinder has been reduced.

Earlier, there was a reduction by Rs. 6.52 on 1st December and Rs. 5.81 on 1st January. In a similar trend, the price of the non-subsidised gas cylinder has also been reduced by Rs. 30. Earlier, the price of the non-subsidised cooking gas cylinder was reduced by Rs. 133 on 1st December and by Rs. 120.50 on 1st January. As per the new rates, the non-subsidised cooking gas cylinder in Delhi will cost Rs. 659.

The main reasons for the above price reduction for the LPG cooking gas cylinder have been attributed to the fall in LPG prices in the international market and the appreciation of the US dollar.
