The presence of railings to hold always gives a safe feeling for the pedestrians. The news is pedestrians on the Jawaharlal Nehru Salai walking from the Kathipara grade separator to the Metro station could feel safe as the pedestrians would be able to hold to the stainless steel railings there. It is said that the footpath for about 500m on either side would have stainless steel railings.

The important information collected was the project would be taken up under Comprehensive Road Infrastructure Development Programme or CRIDP for Chennai circle at cost of Rs 96.8 lakh by the department of Highways. An official expressed his thoughts and spoke about how his department wanted to provide uniform handrails on all major roads in the Chennai city and how in the next phase the remaining stretches of the roads would be covered.

The official further highlighted about how in the stretch near the Guindy subway on Anna Salai people could come across similar rails. It is worthy to note that the department had completed the work near Kamarajar Arangam at Teynampet, Graemes Road and Nandanam. The point is work on the 3.2 km footpath would be completed at an amount of Rs 286 lakhs.

There were few complaints from the motorists regarding placing of garbage bins on the road. It is now said that these garbage bins must be placed in such a way that they do not block the free flow of traffic. Traffic snarl near the popular Hilton Hotel due to two overflowing bins that occupy atleast one lane of space was pointed out by a resident.
