6000 new buses to be purchased by Tamil Nadu

For the purpose of transportation of the public as many as 6000 new buses would be purchased by the state of Tamil Nadu. This was confirmed by Mr. S. Krishnan who is the secretary for TN housing and urban development. This would also include electric vehicles also. It was revealed that the government was concentrating on improving the public transportation. The purpose of promoting public transportation is very important is known. Mr. S. Krishnan later shed light on the agreement made with KFW, a Germany based agency regarding the purchase of 6000 buses that includes electric vehicles also.

It must be noted that the secretary for TN housing and urban development grabbed many eyeballs at the annual conference of Tamil Nadu Real Estate Consultants Association when he addressed a gathering. It is known that on Monday, 4th February 2019, Tamil Nadu Combined Development and Building Rules 2019 were released. Mr. Krishnan pointed out that the new rules have been drafted after looking at various reports on development all over the world. The important point is the new rules focussed on the densification of the available space for development.

The occasion also saw the release of a report titled ’Chennai: From resilience to Growth’ and it was revealed that the southern and western parts of Chennai city would witness boom in the real estate market.

In southern Chennai, Pallavaram - Thoraipakkam corridor would emerge as a preferred destination in the backdrop of IT sector expansion and there would be demand in the residential real estate in the western places due to the growth in the automobile industry.
