Madurai Corporation Budget highlights

The Corporation of Madurai announced their budget for the year on Monday. Mayor Rajan Chellappa announced that an industrial park for entrepreneurs will be established near Mattuthavani.
Mr. Chellappa also announced that each councilor will be given Rs. 10 lakhs under the Councillor Ward Development Scheme to make improvement in each of their wards. He also proposed a drive to recruit 1,500 people to fill various vacancies. He said that advise will be sought from the Finance Committee to make up for the shortfall in funding.
