The central government has brought the prices of 42 cancer prevention medicines under its control. National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority fixes the prices of all essential medicines. It also regulates the prices of these medicines. So far, it has kept the prices of about 1000 essential medicines under check. As a part of this activity, the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has now brought the prices of 42 cancer preventing medicines under its control.
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has released a report on this regard. It has mentioned that ‘A per the Act 19 of the medicine price Control Order 2013, the regularization of the prices of 42 cancer prevention medicine will be brought under control and commercially regularized
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has informed that with the above control of the prices of 42 cancer prevention medicines, the prices will be down by 85%. The revised prices will be effective from 8th March. It is noteworthy in this juncture that 57 cancer prevention medicines are under the control of the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority.
