The online registration for admission to the 1st Standard in the Kendriya Vidyalaya (known as KV) schools commences today (Friday, 1st March).
There are 1199 Kendriya Vidyalayas throughout the country function under the direct control of the central government Department of Human Welfare. There are 48 Kendriya Vidyalaya schools in the state of Tamil Nadu including 14 KV schools in the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs.
The online registration for admission and the procedure is s conducted by ‘K V Sankatan’ (The office of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Commission).
Unlike most other schools, there are no LKG and UKG classes in the Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools. The students are admitted to the 1st Standard directly.
The Assistant Commissioner of the South Zone, Mani, released the announcement for the online registration to the 1st standard in all KV schools yesterday (Thursday, 28th February). It is mentioned:
‘The online registration for admission to the 1st Standard in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools will start functioning from 8.00 AM today (Friday, 1st March). Online registration facility will function until 4.00 PM on 19th March.
In a similar procedure, for admission to other classes from 2nd standard onwards except +1, the online registration is set to commence on 2nd April. The last date is up to 4.00 PM on 9th April.
For admission to +1 class, the online registration will start after the release of the results of the 10th Standard Public Examinations.’
