A special concession has been given to the 23000 +1 students who have failed in the +1 Public Examinations to participate in the +2 Public Examinations even though they have not personally applied for the same.
The system of Public Examination for the +1 class was introduced in the Tamil Nadu School syllabus in the academic year 2017-18. However, 23000 students have failed in the +1 Public Examinations conducted in 2018. They discontinued their studies and left their schools.
Though they had failed in the +1 Public Examination, an opportunity was given to the students to write these examinations again as arrears examination and to continue study in the +2 class. However, due to lack of proper guidance in some schools, some of the students were given transfer certificates and sent out of their schools. This was detected by the state government which ordered that all these students must be recalled and made to apply for the examination.
The state government has also insisted on the payment of examination fees and to bring the transfer certificates. With the above announcements, around 50% of the students returned and resumed regular school classes. At the same time, the state government department of examination has also allowed even those students who have not come back to school and not paid the fees also o write the public examinations.
For these students, hall tickets have been distributed to write the exams in the same previous centre where they wrote their previous public examinations. The old examination numbers of these students have been displayed on the notice board.
These discontinued students may refer to their classmates presently studying in the +2 classes to obtain the details of the examination centre and write the public examinations.
Availing this opportunity, these students can write the examinations in the coming days. No permissions are required from any source for this. The headmasters have informed that these discontinued students can directly visit the examinations centres and write the Public Examinations straightaway.
