Kapaleeswarar temple in Mylapore in Chennai is one of the highly popular temples. Many devotes visit this amazing temple in huge numbers from all over is a well known fact. Beginning from 11th March till 20th March, Panguni Peruvizha would take place at this popular Kapaleeswarar temple. The traffic police of Chennai city had announced diversions for this Panguni Peruvizha. It is said that the diversion would be effected around Kapaleeswarar temple and R.K. Mutt Road.
During the car festival on 17th March, traffic diversion would be in effect from 5 am and in the next day the traffic diversion would be in effect from 2pm.
It is worthy to mention that no vehicles would be allowed towards the temple from the following junctions. The junctions are Kutchery Road towards Mathalnarayanan Street, East Chitrakulam Street towards North Chitrakulam Street, Sundareeswarar Street towards East Mada Street, R.K. Mutt Road towards South Mada Street, St Marys Road towards R.K. Mutt Road Junction. There would also be traffic diversions from Ranga Road towards Venkatesa Agraharam Rioad, Luz Junction towards R.K. Mutt Road.
The point is vehicles proceeding from the Royapettah High Road towards Mandaveli and R.K. Mutt Road would be diverted towards Luz Church Road, D’Silva Road, Bakthavachalam Road, Dr. Ranga Road, CP. Ramasamy Road and St Mary’s Road to reach R.K. Mutt Road junction and Mandaveli junction.
From Adyar towards Luz Junction many vehicles would be proceeding and these vehicles would be diverted at Mandaveli junction to V.K. Iyer Road, Sringeri Mutt Road, Warren Road, Dr. Ranga Road, East Abiramapuram 1st Main Road, Luz Avenue, Nageswara Rao Park, Luz Church Road, Karpagammal Nagar, Vivekananda college, P.S. Sivasami Salai and Royapettah High Road to reach Luz Junction. On all the festival days, MTC buses operated from Mylapore tank bus terminus would start from Amrutanjan Company on the Luz Church Road.
