The Sharjah Planetarium has announced that the Islamic holy month of Ramadan will start on July 10th this year. The Planetarium announced that the crescent moon will be seen on the evening of July 9th, making the next day the first day of the month-long fasts for Muslims.
The planetarium made the announcement on behalf of the Department of Culture and Information, UAE. The official release said that the Ramadan crescent will form on July 8th at 11.14 am and set at 7.08pm (Middle Eastern time).
August 9th, 2013 will be Eid-ul-Fitr.
