Work on the 2 ramps connecting Chennai Outer Ring Road or CORR at Vandalur with GST is going on is known. The important piece of information gathered is till now 50 percent of this work is finished and the entire work would be completed soon in the future.
In the year 2014, first phase from Vandalur to Nemilicherry was opened for the traffic and it was spoken by many. The important information is connecting arms could not be built due to the issues in the land acquisitions and the vehicles were getting onto the 5-lane road after driving in the service lane for short distances.
It is worthy to mention that the construction of ramps from Trichy to CORR and from CORR to Chennai is now going on. According to the officials belonging to Tamil Nadu Road Development Company or TNRDC, the ramp from CORR to Trichy is functional. It must be noted that this TNRDC is the managing associate for the project. The superb news is work would be over in just few months of time and this was confirmed by the official belonging to TNRDC. He also hinted about the deadline that has been set for the contractor to complete the work.
The information collected is the 62 km long road connecting Vandalur and Minjur also had some land acquisition issues and due to one last stretch of 210 m. This has forced the motorists to take a long and roundabout route of 3.5 km at Red Hills. It is important to note that the service road was used by the motorists who entered Red Hills and came out at Padianallur RTO office. Then the motorists got on to the CORR to reach Minjur are known.
An official spoke about how there are few stretches that had land based issues. He then explained that the points including one near Poonamallee High Road have been cleared and work regarding construction is going on. The amazing piece of information is the road has become very popular with the motorists and it is said that on an average as many as 30000 vehicles are using the road and it includes as many as 7000 trucks.
