Engineering colleges to open on April 1st

Engineering colleges across Tamil Nadu will open on April 1st this year. Around 500 colleges were closed after students took to the streets to protest the Sri Lankan issue.
However, both parents and college heads are unhappy with the decision to close the institutions and then reopen them so late, especially since the students will give their practical exams at the end of April. One parent said, We have no clue as to how the students will manage to study in a short span of time and yet score good marks. A student can miss campus recruitment by one mark if he fails to get 80 per cent.
Officials of Anna University said, Even though the university says we can conduct extra classes during weekends, it would be difficult to as we have several logistical issues involved. You cannot ask a faculty to work on weekends because you had closed the college for over a week.
