22 private Engg colleges to be closed in TN

Anna University has released a sensation order closing 22 private engineering colleges functioning under its control.
In the order, Anna University has not renewed the licence for 22 privates colleges out of a total of 537 engineering colleges functioning under it.
Subsequently, a situation has arisen where the above 22 engineering colleges cannot take up the new admissions for the next academic year! Thus, the 22 private engineering colleges have been forced into a stage where they have to close down!
After a survey, it was established that 92 engineering colleges did not have the required infrastructure for the prescribed syllabus, laboratory facilities, and had a shortage of faculty professors.
Hence, Anna University had to decide to take action on the above 92 colleges and also to reduce the number of seats for admission by 50%!
It is gathered that 15000 seats have been reduced in 300 faculties.
