In Mumbai, most of the suburban electric train passengers use the App UTS to buy tickets. If this facility is introduced in Tamil Nadu as well and used extensively by the passengers, the lots of crowds in the ticket counters would reduce drastically!
Surveillance cameras are being set up in all suburban station to ensure additional safety. This task is set to be completed in the next 6 months.
Further, special squads formed by the Railway Protection Force and TTE personnel have been set up to nab the passengers indulging in footboard travel. So, stringent action will be taken on the foot-board travelling passengers. In case some Railway employees travel without proper permit regarding the work assigned, departmtmental disciplinary action will be taken.’
