Students from more than 100 colleges across Tamil Nadu have ignored their studies and have taken to fasting to protest against Sri Lanka’s inhuman and ruthless actions of genocide and war crimes against civilians, said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa during the Assembly session on Wednesday.
‘Moreover, they have conducted demonstration in 210 places, processions in 110 venues, blocked roads in 68 places, picketed 21 train stations and burnt effigies in 24 places’, she said. ‘The Sri Lankan issue will bear fruit under the Government led by me, our ideals will win. Therefore, I ask the leading stars of this protest, the students, to now leave the problem to us and go back to college. I request them to make their parents and Tamil Nadu proud by doing well academically.’
