After more than 6 months without any rain, Chennai city has been getting rains in the last few days is known.

The important piece of information now is Chennai city would get rain for another 3 days now and the rains would be mostly in the afternoons and in the night time. The reason for the rains would be due to the upper air circulation that has moved closer to the Chennai city now.

It is now revealed that after 29th of June indirect effect of a low pressure taking shape in north of Bay of Bengal might bring isolated rainfall in some areas in the state of TN. In the last 5 days, Chennai city and its suburbs has been getting scattered rains amounting to total quantum of 88 mm.

The sky is likely to be cloudy and light rains are likely to take place in some places. This was according to the forecast for the coming 2 days. The Chennai city would have maximum temperature of 35 degree Celsius and minimum temperature of 26 degree Celsius. It has been mentioned by the deputy director general of meteorology that the current spell would be present till 29th of June.

Point to be noted is the upper air circulation now lies over the Bay of Bengal between south Andhra and north TN coast. It was later pointed out by weather blogger Mr. Pradeep John that the clouds got intense after reaching Chennai and this was because of increase in the moisture from the heat available in Chennai plus moisture from the sea breeze.
