Chennai to be cloudy for next 2 days with sparse rains

It is known that depression has formed over the Bay of Bengal near the Odisha coast. Now, it is brought out that due to this depression the city of Chennai would be cloudy but the chances of rains are slim.

It was later pointed out by an official belonging to the meteorological department that the system would not have any direct impact to cause rains in Chennai. The system is expected to bring down the day temperature. It is important to note that winds at the lower levels would reach till the depression and would blow back to the south coast. There would be some amount of rains in the city of Chennai but there would not be heavy rains in Chennai.

The official then spoke about how winds would bring some clouds from the depression area and it would lead to cloudy sky over Chennai in the next 2 days of time. The information is this would be like a cycle and after the depression dissipates another depression would form in the north near Bengal. Chennai would become cloudy again by this process and there would not be any rains.

It was mentioned by Chennai based weather blogger, Mr. Pradeep John that high winds and fast moving clouds would be the pattern. He added that rain spells like those in south suburbs yesterday would be possible. He concluded that after 10th August spells of rains look good and above normal rains are expected in places like Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chennai in those spells of rains between 10th to 20th August. On Tuesday, Chennai received isolated rains in few parts is known.

It must be taken into account that Nungambakkam received 0,2 mm rains and Meenambakkam received 1.4 mm rains. On the Monday night especially in the Chennai suburbs, there was good amount of rains is known.
