It is well known that Kerala. Karnataka and western coast have been receiving very heavy rains. The intensity of rains in above said places has reduced now. It is now said that Chennai city would have thundershowers today and tomorrow. This was as per the meteorological department. It must be noted that when southeast monsoon rain has break period, then northern parts of Tamil Nadu including Chennai would get rains.
The condition of the sky is likely to be cloudy and rain or thundershowers is likely to occur in some parts. This has been predicted by the meteorological department. It was forecast as mild rains on Monday and now this has been changed to thundershowers on Tuesday and Wednesday. The important information is the temperature of the day is expected to be on the high side and maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 38 degrees and 29 degrees Celsius.
Less cloud cover is responsible for the high temperatures during the day time. It was pointed out that when cloud cover is sparse over Chennai city then scattered light would hit the earth directly and day would be hotter.
In Kerala and Karnataka regions, there would be some respite from the heavy rains and this was as per some private weather bloggers. An official belonging to the meteorological department expressed his thoughts and spoke about how break in the southwest monsoons in these regions would normally bring rains in Chennai and northern parts of TN.
He added that the convective clouds due to high day temperatures would be playing an import ant role in causing rains in Chennai city. Point is day time temperature that was hovering around 36 degrees Celsius would be over 38 degrees Celsius. It is important to note that Chennai recorded 36.9 degrees Celsius that is increase by 2.5 degree Celsius.
Information collected is the minimum temperature recorded was 29.4 degrees Celsius which is an increase by 3.5 degrees Celsius. When compared to Sunday, the temperature was higher in the afternoon on Monday. At 11:30 am, the temperature was at its peak and it was 37 degrees Celsius. The temperature then started to reduce.
