Chennai to be cool for another few days, rains in evening and night

On Sunday, 18th August 2019, Chennai city was cool because of the rains. This cool weather is likely to be there for the next few days also in Chennai. This was as per the forecast made by the meteorological department.

On Saturday night, moderate rains started in Chennai city and it continued till the morning of Sunday. Many important localities belonging to the city of Chennai such as Anna Salai, Abiramapuram, Arumbakkam, T. Nagar, Thoraipakkam and Kodambakkam received rains. It must be noted that areas around the airport recorded 3 cm rainfall and area around the heart of Chennai recorded 2 cm rainfall. This was for a period of 24 hours that ended at 8:30 am on Sunday morning.

The convective activity is the cause for the trains in Chennai now and this was confirmed by the officials belonging to the meteorological department. It is now said that the same pattern might be there in Chennai city for next few days with rains likely in the evening and in the night time.

It was mentioned by the meteorological department that the sky is likely to be cloudy and light to moderate rains or thundershowers is likely to take place in Chennai. The maximum temperature might touch 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature might touch 25 degrees Celsius.

It is important to mention that many places belonging to TN received heavy rainfall. The sensational information is Alangayam in Vellore district recorded 15 cm rainfall and it got the maximum rains in TN. It was followed by Thirupattur that received 10 cm of rainfall. Near Chennai, Sriperumbudur received 6 cm of rainfall. The meteorological department later shed light on how places such as Vellore, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Tiruvannamalai plus others like Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Ariyalur, Perambalur and Thiruvarur might receive heavy to very heavy rains.
