Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palaniswamy inaugurated the State Government Education TV on behalf of the State government Department of Education.
The event was organised in Chennai Kotturpuram and the Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Speaker Dhanbapal and the senior ministers participated in the event.
This new channel on the Television, by the state government of Tamil Nadu, called ‘Education TV’, a ’24-hour’ channel, has been launched with the prime objectives of improving the education standards and quality for the school students and also teaching the new information in an easier, simpler, and faster way!
Education TV office has been set up ion the 8th floor of the Anna Centenary Library Complex at Chennai Raja Annamalaipuram.
All required equipment for telecasting are installed in this office.
The State Minister for School Education, K A Sengottaiyan, Chief Secretary Pradeep Yadav, and Director Rameswara Murugan were coordinating the activities and monitoring them in the setting up of the new TV channel.
The programmes in this 24 TV channel are designed to reach the school students and created accordingly.
The day’s schedule of programmes start at 5.00 AM with ‘Kuralin kural’ (The voice of the great Tamil literary work of short verses called ‘Thirukkural’) with an explanation on a chosen verse and an animation.
At 5.30 AM, \Day’s Notes’ is scheduled explaining the day’s important events lined up. Under the title, ‘Indha Naal Iniya Naal’ (Today is a sweet and pleasant day), world events and clips on happenings would be shown.
From 5.30 AM to 6.00 AM, under the title, ‘Nalame valam’ (Health is Wealth’), explanations will be given on physical exercise, Yoga practice, Health aspects, food habits, and simple medical treatments will be given.
From 6.00 AM to 6.30 AM, a programme with the title ‘Guruve thunai’ (Our teacher is our mentor), the presentation will be made on famous teachers with tremendous achievements and their accomplishments and the views/observations of Academic Experts will be shown.
From 6.30 AM to 7.00 AM, a programme ‘Sutti Getti’ (Accomplished children), presenting honour/award-winning young students and their achievements and discoveries.
Subsequently, a programme under the title, ‘Valladhu Arasu’ will be telecast detailing the various activities of the Tamil Nadu State Government Education Department, Subsidy projects, Welfare programmes, andnd the government’s achievements. In the programme, ‘Ozhukkam Vizhuppam Tharum’, stories with morals, short plays by students, oral presentations on lifestyle, etc., would be telecast.
The programme, ‘;Mani Osai’ (The ringing of the bell), programmes detailing the achievements and the functioning of famous celebrated schools will be presented.
‘Thaye Thamizh’ programme (Mother Tamil), various Tamil Lessons, Poetry, Tamil Speeches from eminent personalities will be telecast.
‘Easy English’ programme will facilitate learning English with a session on English Speaking Exercises/sessions, English literature and exercises/programmes to improve English skills will be telecast.
‘Arivom Ariviyal’ (Let us know more about Science) programme will present scientific discoveries, science lessons, practicals, and related explanations will be presented.
In the programme, ‘Suvadugal’ (tracks), Incidents with historical background, Lessons in Geography, and general Knowledge programmes will be telecast.
The most prominent programme, scheduled between 11.30 AM and 12.00 Noon, called ‘Enippadigal’ (Steps on the ladder), learning/preparing for the various competitive examinations will be presented; Guidelines for the various competitive examinations NEET, JEE, C. A., TNPSC will also be given. Direct training classes will be conducted as well!
The programme, ‘Odi Vilaiyadu Paappa’ (Come, child, run and play and enjoy sports), will present programmes on the achievements of eminent students sportsmen, Physical Education teachers and their achievements.
Education TV will cover all students from primary schools up to +2 classes and will present programmes very useful to the students as well as teachers. Coaching classes/doing exercises will also be apart of the programme. All programmes will cater to the prescribed syllabus.
Arrangements are being made to facilitate watching this new ‘Education TV’ in all government schools!
The programmes will be shown to the respective classes as per the timings.
As there is a rerun scheduled for these programmes, the students can see the programme even after returning home and avail to learn.
The Academicians are all of a unanimous opinion that ‘Education TV’ will be a pioneer and forerunners in the field of education at All-India-level!
