Puducherry Co Operative Union sits in

The employees of the Puducherry Co-operative Union have started a sit in demonstration on Tuesday. The demonstration was to protest the dismissal of daily rated workers two days ago. The Union is demanding that the 30 employees be taken back in.
The retrenchment came in the wake of financial difficulties faced by the Union. Reports say that the members of the Union tried to discuss the issue with Managing Director Balakrishnan, but he refused to take them back inciting financial crisis.
