Accordingly, the safety/protection charges for the customers with a single-phase per kilowatt usage may go up by Rs. 200 to Rs. 1000. For the customers with 3-phase connection, the charges may increase from Rs. 600 to Rs. 1800 as per the recommendations of the committee meeting mentioned above.

Presently, no fees are collected when TANGEDCO staff visit the place of any complaint made on electricity connection. However, now, it has been recommended charges from Rs. 580 to Rs. 1920 may be collected for residential electricity connections. For the 3-phase users, the charges maybe Rs. 3810.
When enquiring about the above information regarding the increase in charges, TANGEDCO has informed that a revision will be announced after receiving the opinions/suggestions from the customer. Further, it was explained that the last such revision was made in the year 2004 and till now there have been no changes. It is noteworthy that 29 lakhs new electricity connections have been given during the year 2018-19!
